What is Collaboration Anyway?
Collaboration is something that we as humans have been doing our whole lives. Wether it was for a class, sports team or even a job, we have all experienced what it is like to work together in a cohesive unit. Before beginning this class I thought collaboration what just a word to describe when people work together on something .After reading this article I have learned it has a lot more layers than that. I really enjoyed how this article was written and I thought that it was an easy read with very relatable examples. With all the social media out their today we can collaborate on sites such as Facebook, Twitter and even Wikipedia without even realizing our intention. This article explained how when we collaborate our intentions can produce a repercussion wether it be a good one or a bad one. Sometimes we can even be collaborating with our enemies and thats a good thing! I liked how this article defined the line between what is collaboration and what is not. I think as a whole we lack knowledge on the importance of collaboration and how it contributes to our everyday society. Overall I was really happy with this article and feel like I have a much better understanding of collaboration and all the layers behind it.
Leo, I enjoy your blog post I think that it gives a nice overview of what collaboration is. I also enjoy your section where you describe what you at first thought that it was and then go into better detail about what the article actually says it was. You also bring up a good point that it is a skill we can all afford to better ourselves with as collaboration today is such a widely used concept in our society especially in this age of technology.
ReplyDeleteLeo,
ReplyDeleteI believe you gave a great explanation as to what collaboration is and how it is/always has been socially present in our daily lives. Before reading the assigned text, my personal definition of collaboration was that it enables individuals to work together to reach a common goal. I believe that new media is very present in our current society, which ultimately bridges the gap between technology and a sense of community. I appreciate how you explain how collaboration encompasses many layers. I never thought about the complexities of collaboration until you wrote about it in your blog post. Great work!
I think that you gave good explanations on what collaboration is and how we can see it everyday in our day-to-day lives. I also liked how this article talked about what collaboration is and what it is not, because i was surprised to learn the examples of what it was not. I never knew the complexities of it and how working with our enemies to better benefit us. I agreed with everything you said and found it very beneficial to know about these things and implement it in everyday life! Good job!
ReplyDeleteLeo, you made a lot of great points in your post. We do use collaboration everyday without noticing it, especially on the internet when we use Facebook or YouTube. I also thought it was important that the author defined what he believed is collaboration and what isn't. Collaboration, especially online, is complex and very interesting to learn about. I thought I knew about collaboration until we did that group project. Collaboration online is much more difficult than it is in real-life.
ReplyDeleteLeo,
ReplyDeleteYou posted a great summary of the points regarding “what is collaboration.” I particularly liked how you mentioned collaboration can have its good points and its bad points meaning it can be positive or negative. I too thought the group project was a good example for all us to experience both positive and negative advantages to on-line collaboration. For me, it was more difficult than I had thought. I much prefer to collaborate in person as I can see if my team members are understanding the tasks at hand or if someone is afraid to admit they are struggling with the concept.
